What can church members do to reach older adults?
Care Giving Friends partners with local churches to establish teams of volunteers to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support to older adults in need of assistance. The team approach allows time flexibility for volunteers (typically 2 hours 2 times per month) while still providing a variety of services. Without this assistance, many older adults face losing their independence.
Caregiving Friends works with churches by training volunteers and helping to identify older adults in need. In addition, we act as a referral source for aging adults for resources with Monmouth County, including areas such as Medicare by offering free help to Medicare beneficiaries through a SHIP Counselor (State Health Insurance Assistance).
Through our partnerships with local churches, we are able to reach out and assist many older adults in Monmouth County and be a source of hope. We can structure the Caregiving Friends Program to meet the goals of individual churches. Please contact us to discuss how we can help you to achieve your church mission to minister to older adults.
If Caregiving Friends is already at your church, you can join a small group team that works together to provide practical, emotional, and spiritual support to the elderly person they adopt.
If Caregiving Friends is not at your church, please contact us at 732-542-7012 ext. 103 to start a small group team.
